Tal,
When I was at the crossroads,
I collared not only the slave kiena{FCM}, but also a thrall by the name of chad[FCM]. This male thrall seems rather lazy and soft, perhaps accustomed to being a male silk slave. Those of the Island should see fit to put him to hard, physically demanding work whenever possible. He should be treated harshly, and subjected to punishment whenever deemed necessary.
Schedule:
*Sleep: The slave should be kept in the Kennels or a straw-lined stall of the Animal pens close to the Harbour when he is sleeping, perhaps four or five hours a day.
*Food: The thrall should be fed two bowls of slave gruel a day, and possibly more when doing strenous labour. Tospit fruits, stale bread and fish may also be fed to him.
* Dockworker: He may be roused from his slumber to assist with the loading and unloading of ships at any time during the night. He will also be expected to moor ships to the docks.
*Garbage collector: He will be given a kaalia-drawn cart that he must pull by hand. He will use this cart to collect garbage from around the Island, and take it to the refuse pits.
*Delivery: Using the same hand-drawn kaalia-cart, the thrall will take goods from the shops to the Warehouses, and from the warehouses to the shops.
*Woodcutter: With the Ubar's permission, the thrall may be permitted to use a trade axe for the chopping of wood for fuel. This fuel will be delivered by the thrall, using his hand-pulled cart.
*Road repair: Using the hand-drawn wagon, the thrall will take stones from the Quarry to repair and build roads, also walls.
*Digging: Digging pits, foundations, mining, and other construction.
Chimney cleaning: The thrall could be made to clean chimneys.
The thrall will have a kaalia-cart that he will use as a hand cart to assist him in his duties. He may also have some tools, such as an axe. Northerners are known to allow their thralls to carry axes.
As far as clothing goes, he may be issued a wool tunic once a year, with fur boots (weather depending). In the summer, a simple rep-cloth tunic will suffice.
This male thrall is lazy, and can sometimes be found sneaking off somewhere to sleep or lounge around. He needs a firm hand, and as a state-owned slave no punishment is too harsh.
